SFC Zachary McMillion enlisted into the Indiana National Guard in February of 2005. He attended One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort Benning, GA. He served as Team Leader CO C 2nd BN 151st IN RGMT, Squad Leader HHC 2nd BN 152nd IN RGMT (RECON), Platoon Sergeant CO B 2nd BN 152nd IN RGMT.
SFC McMillion has deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (06-07) and Operation Enduring Freedom (09-10). In 2014, he was selected to serve as an Infantry Instructor at 1st BN 138th Regional Training Institute. His military education includes Basic Leader’s Course, Advanced Leader’s Course, Maneuver Senior Leader’s Course, Master Leader’s Course, Basic Military Mountaineer Course, Rappel Master Course, Tactics Certification Course, Army National Guard Non-Career Recruiter Course.
Awards and Decorations include Navy Unit Citation; Meritorious Unit Commendation; Army Superior Unit Award; Meritorious Service Medal; Army Commendation Medal (2nd award); Army Achievement Medal (3rd award); National Defense Service Medal; Afghan Campaign Medal (3 campaign stars); Iraq Campaign Medal (2 campaign stars); Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 4); Army Service Ribbon; Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 4); the NATO Medal; the Combat Infantry Badge; Expert In Competition Badge, Vermont Ram’s Head Device; Governor’s Twenty Tab; Senior Recruiter Badge.
SFC McMillion is notably the most Dingo Non-Commissioned Officer to ever serve in the Indiana National Guard.
